BruteSoft secures 10,000 Seat Site License.

Oakland Unified School District and BruteSoft Sign 10,000 Seat License Agreement.

Sunnyvale, California - (December 1, 2009) - BruteSoft Inc. today announced that they have signed a 10,000 seat site license with the Oakland Unified School District (OUSD).

"BruteSoft's cutting edge technology solves a big problem for us. We were spending far too much time and effort on our distribution process. This solution is so much more efficient that it will free up my team to be more flexible in the way they operate. With the time savings they gain on distributing software and troubleshooting issues, they can spend more time with the end users; improving customer service and student outcomes," said Ron Chandler, Executive Director of IT, OUSD.

“We are extremely proud to be part of the OUSD community,” said Pierre Joubert, CEO of BruteSoft. “OUSD was able to see how easily all its upgrades and bare-metal installs could be, using the BruteSoft solution. As a result, OUSD has signed a 10,000 seat license to roll this solution out to its schools over the next year, saving the capital expense of buying and maintaining servers.”

Providing students and teachers with access to robust computing services and innovative software is vital to the school district’s mission of ensuring that all students graduate as caring, competent, and critical thinkers, as well as fully-informed, engaged, and contributing citizens, prepared to succeed in college and career. “We are excited to contribute to this mission,” said Joubert.

About Oakland Unified School District

Oakland Unified School District has 106 K-12 schools serving over 40,000 students per year. They have struggled for years with the difficult conditions in their district, such as the low income levels in the area and budget constraints. OUSD has been making laudable progress despite these barriers: student achievement in Oakland Public Schools has grown 27% faster than the statewide average, results which extend OUSD's streak as California's most rapidly improving urban school district to a five-year period.
